Why no subpoena for Novak?

I may be wrong, and I'd love someone to tell me if I am, but I believe Novak has yet to be subpoenaed to testify before the GJ.

If this is true, why is it? Please throw out theories -- legal or otherwise.

Personally, I've been wondering if it's because he's the keystone in this riddle. Maybe Fitzgerald is asking questions of everyone else so he knows enough of his own "deep background" to be able to catch Novak in any attempt to lie. That whole "never ask a question to which you don't know the answer" deal.

I dunno...

Anyone here have an idea??

WASHINGTON -- For the second time this year the FBI yesterday executed search warrants at the office of the nation's most influential pro-Israel lobbying group. The agency also issued grand jury subpoenas on four of its top officers, a signal that the two-year investigation into the alleged transfer of classified material may be winding down.

As tit for tat as it sounds, it's true.

Just check out the video Drudge directed his readers to view with regard to the Kerry "story," and which Drudge is still hosting on his site.

If you look on the left side of the screen, not the right, where Drudge, with amazing Copperfieldesque sleight of hand pointed everyone to look, one distinctly sees Bush pull out a sheet of paper and unfold it.

Watch it again. Look at both, and it is distinctly Bush who cheated. That is how the Drudge machine works. Point in one direction to get your eye off what the other hand is doing.

I was just re-reading this Howard Kurtz piece on Judy Miller from July of last year.

It is pretty apparent that she was manipulating not only her own reporting in kahoots with Chalabi, but also the activities of military units in the field, invoking the names of Rumsfeld, Feith, Wolfie, et al.

Could it be that Judy might have been working with Chalabi? And is she a possible indictment target for treason charges? Under a Kerry admin, should a DoJ prosecutor or two be sicced on poor old Judy?

I already posted earlier today, and I'll say it again:

We need a huge outpouring of public resistance to the war, and it needs to be very visible. I say on the Mall in Washington, DC.

Look, Planned Parenthood got a million. This could dwarf that. Think about all the people who wouldn't march for abortion, but are still pissed about this war.

Combine it with a voter registration drive, and Bush's poll numbers will plummet.

Some Kossacks out there must have some good ideas about how to organize it.

If we can get 1 million people to swamp the Mall to protest for reproductive rights, there is no reason we can't do the same to get us out of Iraq.

Any body have any experience with this stuff? Maybe a website to coordinate? I figure sometime in June or early July would be good. (Maybe time it around Independence Day?)

At lunch today I heard Rush Limbaugh characterize the TORTURE at Abu Ghraib as "just like the hazing rituals in Skull & Bones" and justified it because our troops need to "blow off some steam".

If that's blowing off steam, I'd like to know what Rush does to relax...here are some thoughts:

The CBS/NYT poll released yesterday says it all.

"If ... Nader is included on the ballot in November and the election were held today, 41 percent of voters would vote for Kerry; 43 percent would vote for Bush. Nader would draw 5 percent of the vote, mostly at the expense of Kerry, who holds a two-point edge in the two-way contest."

There must be a way to make the bad man stop! I think Nader's stances are just fine -- in fact, ideologically, he is pleasing. But he will not win, and his candidacy could just cost Americans their freedoms. Why is pragmatism so pooh-poohed? Why can't he just GO?

Vote for the best way to urge him out of the race.
